Alvin plans annual Fire and Rescue Picnic

ALVIN, Wis. — Alvin will have its 22nd anniversary Labor Day Fire and Rescue Picnic on Saturday at Buchanan Park in Alvin.

The festivities will be from noon until the Big Tickets drawing at 7 p.m. Ongoing board and bucket raffles will be done throughout the day. The event also will feature a cornhole tournament, live entertainment, beverages and food such as roasted corn and funnel cakes.

A bounce house and playground will be available for the kids, as well as many activities and outdoor games.

The picnic is Alvin’s major fundraiser for fire and rescue training, new equipment and park improvement and maintenance.

Big Ticket items include a CF-MOTO ATV with trailer, a Legacy Pointer shotgun, a Thunder Bay Resort package, a Green Bay Packers mini-fridge and a Charbroil gas-to-coal grill.Tickets can be purchased at the park; winners do not have to be present.

Buchanan Park is one mile west of Highway 55 on County Road A. Signs will be posted.
