IRON MOUNTAIN — The monthly meeting of the Northwoods Philatelic Society stamp club will be 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20, in the Fellowship Room at First Lutheran Church, 1210 S. Stephenson Ave. behind Slumberland Furniture in Iron Mountain.

A brief business meeting and educational program will be followed by the usual informal stamp club auction. Members are encouraged to bring up to five lots for the auction, and the club also will auction lots of some recently acquired stamps.

The Northwoods Philatelic Society promotes the fun and fellowship of stamp collecting. It has members from both Michigan and Wisconsin, and is open to students as well as adults. Collectors range from very new to sophisticated.

Membership is free; the only requirement is a desire to learn about stamp collecting. Meetings are fun and informal, with all who are interested welcome to attend.
