AAUW meeting planned Jan. 28

IRON MOUNTAIN — The Iron Mountain-Kingsford Branch of the American Association of University Women will meet Tuesday, Jan. 28, at Pine Grove Country Club in Iron Mountain.

Social hour begins at 5:30 p.m., with dinner to follow at 6.

The meal includes broccoli cheddar soup and a salad buffet with a grilled chicken breast. The dessert is decadent chocolate cake. Cost of the meal is $12 without dessert and $16.50 with dessert. Beverages may be purchased in the bar area.

A panel program on “Mental Health Issues That Impact Women,” will begin at 6:45 p.m. Panelists include Dr. Lisa Pangrazzi, Cheryl Welch, Elyse D’Amico and Brittany Anderson.

A short business meeting will follow the program.

AAUW is a nationally recognized, nonpartisan, nonprofit organization that strives to promote equity for women and girls through research, education, and advocacy.

The Iron Mountain-Kingsford Branch of AAUW supports this mission by providing scholarships for area women to attend a two- or four-year college or university of their choice.

They also advance equity for women and girls through mission-based programs, Speech Trek competition, annual book sale, candidates’ forums, and Start Smart workshop.
