Free virtual library cards are available

IRON MOUNTAIN — The Dickinson County Library in Iron Mountain helps the community find its story and right now you can sign-up for a free virtual card.

These temporary cards will grant access to the library’s collection of digital audiobooks, eBooks and magazines available through the Great Lakes Digital Library.

Signing up is easy — go to the library’s website, www.dcl-lib.org, and click on the link provided on the green banner.

Using almost any device, card holders can check out, download, and enjoy from home.  Wi-fi still is available in the parking lot of the libraries for those with mobile devices or laptops.  Information about resources available online also can be found on the library’s website.

These temporary cards will expire April 30 or when the governor’s “Stay Home, Stay Safe” executive order has been lifted. At that time, please go to any Dickinson County Library site and register in person for a library card.

There is no charge for Dickinson County residents and taxpayers; those who reside outside of Dickinson County can register for a card for a low annual fee.

While the library sites are closed, any questions can be directed by emailing to dcl@dcl-lib.org. Someone will respond as soon as possible.
