IRON MOUNTAIN — The Iron Mountain-Kingsford General Federation of Women’s Club continued its annual project event at ManorCare Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Kingsford despite the COVID-19 pandemic.

Due to established restrictions, however, the Home Life Service Project Committee had decorated cupcakes delivered by Super One Foods of Iron Mountain to the facility for the residents.

“This way, residents were still remembered by GFWC,” Dorleen Uhazie said.

“ManorCare would like to thank them very much for their generosity,” said Shari Stachowicz, activity director.

“We are happy to be able to do this and make nursing home deliveries free of charge,” said Anjoli Rochon, Super One bakery manager. “It’s a small thing to do to brighten someone’s day.”

Super One does ask that bakery delivery orders be called in 24 hours in advance.

The Home Life Committee has Uhazie as chairwoman, with volunteers Betty Anderson, Irene Ebidon, Inez Riverside, Nora Weinfurter, Rosemary Rondeau and Elaine Larson.

Past volunteers include Marcene Fuse, Betty Simon, Nan Johnson, Pam King, Gerri Tahako, Alice Taff, Dorothy Person and Mary Ann Koerschner.
