Camp Quality virtual this year

Boyne City, Mich. — Camp Quality Michigan, with the support of the U.P. Lions Club, will provide a Virtual Camp experience this year for Upper Peninsula and Wisconsin children who are currently in treatment or have previously been treated for cancer or have other chronic blood disorders, as well as their siblings.

Camp week is set July 12-16 with the theme “THRIVE.” The camp will take kids on an adventure with daily themes of Creativity, Humor, Confidence, Gratitude and Zest through the use of imagination, fun and lots of enthusiasm. Each child will receive a backpack filled with items needed to participate in the week of camp, along with other fun Camp Quality items.

They will be use ZOOM and FlipGrid platforms to interact with the kids throughout the week. The program traditionally would have a week- long onsite camp but due to COVID will be providing a safer option for families.

Camp Quality Michigan will also have an in-person kickoff event June 19 at Bay Cliff Health Camp — following all state and national COVID-19 guidelines. This will give campers, siblings, and families an opportunity to meet Camp Quality staff, other campers and check out the camp facility where future family events and week-long camp are planned.

To register for the Virtual Camp and the kickoff event, go to the Camp Quality Michigan website at https://www.campqualityusa.org/mi/ and click on the THRIVE logo on the home page.
