Crystal Falls District Community Library offers reading challenges

CRYSTAL FALLS — Two reading challenges are happening simultaneously at the Crystal Falls District Community Library.

The first is Winter Reading Book Bingo. Patrons are invited to the library to pick up a Winter Reading Book Bingo card. Each space has a different type of book listed; examples include book written by a female author, book set in the U.P., a book that takes place during winter, and a book you started but never finished.

Once patron gets a bingo (horizontal, vertical, or diagonal), he or she gets an entry into the library’s grand prize drawing for a Crystal Falls District Community Library hooded sweatshirt.

If they complete the whole card, they get a bonus entry–for a total of 13 chances to win the hoodie. The contest runs through March 20, the last official day of winter.

The second event is the 2023 Book Reading Challenge

For this challenge, all participants need to do is read 50 books during the year, record them on the library’s special form, and turn it in by Dec. 31. All who complete the challenge will get a free Crystal Falls District Community Library book bag.
