FLORENCE, Wis. — The Northwoods Geology Club will meet Wednesday, July 30 at the Florence Natural Resource Center, lower level.

They will have a brief meeting at 5:30 p.m., with the main event to begin at 6 p.m.

Two professional archeologists Kevin Akemann, formerly of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee archeology department and Ryan Howell, lead archeologist for the U.S. Army at Fort McCoy will head up the program. The Wild Rivers Interpretive Center and the Florence County Historical Society played a large part in organizing the special event.

Following the program, the archeologists will be available to help in the identification of any artifacts.

The public is encouraged to attend.
