KINGSFORD — Kristin Sommerfeld recently completed the MCA Leadership Development Institute program. She is the executive assistant and human resources manager for the Dickinson-Iron Community Services Agency.

The course she took is an innovative learning experience aimed at strengthening leadership depth and acumen in Michigan’s Community Action agencies. Sommerfeld joined 36 other community action agency professionals from throughout Michigan.

The program spanned 10 months and consisted of seven full days of face-to-face learning with the facilitator, Rebecca Kraus, a professional certified coach.

Graduation ceremonies took place at the Michigan Community Action Summer Conference in Thompsonville, Mich.
