A-1 Global Travel relocating

IRON MOUNTAIN — Linda Van Beek will close her A-1 Global Travel & Cruise office at 426 S. Stephenson Ave. effective Wednesday and move the business to her home.

Van Beek still will offer service on all aspects of travel. She is a member of the Airline Reporting Corporation, Travel Leaders of Minneapolis and also the Mast Travel Network in Chicago, plus has ties to the travel organization Iatan.

These all allow her to have strong connections with tour companies and suppliers, built over 35 years in the business. She specializes in tours, cruises, river cruises, honeymoons, destination weddings and groups.

Her outside agents already have transitioned to their homes and are available to customers.

Four Seasons Resort reopens

PEMBINE, Wis. — The Four Seasons Island Resort on Miscauno Island reopened to the public April 4 after being closed for several years.

The River Golf Course at The Four Seasons Island Resort is expected to reopen later this spring after a major upgrade.

The resort on the Menominee River offers all-suite lodging, fine dining, spa, banquet/weddings and conference space, golf and other recreational opportunities, such as access to area snowmobile and ATV trails.

Originally opened in 1905 by the Wisconsin and Michigan Railroad, the 55-suite hotel offers modern amenities while preserving the original architecture and charm.

“We are extremely excited to be reopening this incredible gem,” said James Montie, general manager.

MPSC forum in Escanaba May 17

LANSING, Mich. — The Michigan Public Service Commission will have a public forum in Escanaba May 17 on UPPCO’s long-term service plans.

All three commissioners — Chairwoman Sally Talberg, Norman Saari, and Daniel Scripps — will attend the sessions at Bay College, along with MPSC staff.

Talberg said it is important the commission hear from U.P. residents about Upper Peninsula Power Company’s integrated resource plan, which is pending before the Commission.

The sessions will be 4 to 5:30 p.m. and 5:45 to 7 p.m. Eastern time in 952 Bays Conference Room in the Joseph Heirman University Center.

Tractor Supply to host Market Day

IRON MOUNTAIN — Tractor Supply stores nationwide are calling all farmers, craft makers and artisans to sell their homemade and homegrown goods during Tractor Supply’s Market Day on Saturday, May 18.

The event is an opportunity for community members to show off their talents, whether they have been selling goods for years or have only dreamed of turning a hobby into a business.

There is no fee to participate. Interested vendors can go to TSCeventpartners.com or their local Tractor Supply store to sign up by May 15.

Tractor Supply’s Market Day is a free event that will be open to the public. Participating vendors must comply with state and local ordinances.
