WI DNR to livestream meeting

MADISON, Wis. — Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Wisconsin Natural Resources Board meeting scheduled for Wednesday will be livestreamed. The meeting will begin at 8:30 a.m.

This month the board will hear an elk herd update, consider approving the 2020 elk season quotas, and consider a request for approval of the 2020-2029 Lake Superior Fisheries Management Plan.

The board will also consider proposed rules related to simplifying the air permit processes, and proposed rules related to financial responsibility for engineering controls for contaminated sediment remediation.

Additionally, the board will consider a statement of scope and conditional approval of the public hearing for several rules, including:

Proposed rules creating chapter NR 229 related to the regulation of wastewater discharges from dental offices to sanitary sewers, and revising chapter NR 211;

Proposed rules to repeal chapters NR 107 and 109 and create chapter NR 108 related to aquatic plant management, manual removal and mechanical control regulations and aquatic habitat protection, and to revise chapter NR 193 related to surface water grants; and

Proposed rules affecting chapters NR 8 and 10 related to furbearer registration and tagging simplification installation.
