Walmart on Saturday to debut newly remodeled store in IM

IRON MOUNTAIN — A ribbon-cutting will take place Saturday morning to celebrate the re-grand opening of the newly remodeled Walmart Supercenter at 1920 S. Stephenson Ave.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony with the Dickinson Area Chamber of Commerce will be at 8 a.m.

“Nearly every department in this store was refreshed in one way or another and our customers will notice the exciting updates as soon as they walk through the door,” Store Manager Scott Patterson said. “These improvements will not only offer a fresh, new look, but also help customers save time and money.”

The celebration will continue throughout the day with food trucks in the parking lot, live music, free samples and giveaways from several vendors, games and prize drawings and activities for parents and children.

Customers also can support local families with the Salvation Army’s “Stuff the Bus” program for the 2022 academic year.

The upgrades also complement measures the company has taken in U.S. stores to help protect associates and customers from the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The remodeling project included expanding the grocery department, improvements at checkout and a more convenient location for online grocery pickup.
