Downtown Christmas Walk set for Dec. 4

IRON MOUNTAIN – The annual Downtown Christmas Walk will be held on Thursday, Dec. 4, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., according to officials with the Downtown Development Authority/Main Street Program.

Activities this year include sleigh rides by Bjorkman’s, carolers throughout the Downtown area, a preview of Northern Michigan Dance Academy’s “Nutcracker” production at the Hughitt Street entrance of Bond Decorating, and Santa will be making his arrival escorted on a fire engine. Santa will be greeting children at Iron Mountain City Hall from 5:3 p.m. to 8 p.m.

People are encouraged to bring a canned item to donate to the can-a-thon.

Many businesses will be hosting in-store holiday specials. Adding to the festive atmosphere will be burn barrels and luminaries placed at various businesses and locations.
