KINGSFORD – The Iron Mountain-Kingsford Community Federal Credit Union will hold its 67th annual membership meeting on Saturday, March 21, at 7 p.m. at the Kingsford High School auditorium.

Members attending the meeting will be presented with reports by officers and committees of the credit union, and there will be business items to discuss.

In addition, the agenda will include the 2014 financial results, new business items and election of directors.

Members will elect five representatives to the Board of Directors. The directors will run for two year terms. A three member committee has been appointed to nominate the candidates for the positions from the membership.

Serving on the Nominating Committee are Larry Swartout, chairman; Donna Peterson and Trudy Deldin.

Any member wishing to have his/her name placed on the ballot can contact Swartout at 774-4283.

To qualify to be nominated by the Nominating Committee for a director position, a candidate should possess the following attributes:

1. Leadership ability.

2. General business experience.

3. Knowledge of financial matters.

4. Accounting or auditing experience.

5. Public relations experience.

6. Miscellaneous qualities, including experience in legal or regulatory compliance, technology, marketing or sales, and human resources.

7. Directors must be able to be bonded and have a good credit history (a credit report will be obtained on each candidate).

In addition, a candidate must be a member of the credit union at least three months prior to the end of the fiscal year immediately preceding the annual meeting at which he/she wishes to be elected.

Volunteers, officers, and/or employees of other financial institutions may not serve on our Board of Directors. Relatives of present employees of our credit union may not serve as a Director or as a committee member.

Names must be placed before the committee by Feb. 13, to be on the ballot, but nominations will also be accepted from the floor during the meeting.

Nominees from the floor must also meet the qualifications listed above.
