MARQUETTE – Operation Action U.P. will be holding its annual meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 28, at 8 a.m. (Eastern time) on the campus of Northern Michigan University at the Don H. Bottum University Center Great Lakes Rooms.

The Operation Action U.P. annual meeting is open to those who have an interest in the program.

The four Upper Peninsula businesses who will receive Operation Action U.P.’s 2014 Awards of Excellence are A. Lindberg & Sons, Inc., Biogenic Reagents, Nor-Fab Enterprises and Thomas Theatre Group. The award recipients will provide an overview of their business, noting their remarkable successes.

The theme of this year’s Operation Action U.P. Annual Meeting is “The Future of Mining in the U.P.”

The event will feature a panel of mining experts including Tom Quigley, Aquila Resources; Matt Johnson, Eagle Mine; and Carlos Bertoni, Highland Copper, who will discuss mining’s future in the Upper Peninsula.
