ESCANABA – Verso Corp. has named Matt Archambeau manager of its Escanaba mill. Archambeau has more than 20 years of experience with Verso, including serving as manager of Verso mills in Bucksport, Maine, and Sartell, Minn.

Born in Duluth, Minn., Archambeau graduated from the University of Minnesota in Duluth with a degree in chemical engineering.

He was recruited by Champion International and interned at the Duluth, Minn., mill . He joined Verso’s Bucksport mill as a process engineer, and progressed into leadership roles in paper manufacturing operations. He was named mill manager at Verso’s Sartell Mill and led recovery efforts after a fatal explosion at the mill

Archambeau, 42, has two children, a 12-year-old daughter, Maddie, and a 10-year-old son, Nathan.

“I’m proud to be part of the team at Escanaba and I’m looking forward to becoming a member of the community,” Archambeau said.
