Waliczek joins U.P. Dance Academy

KINGSFORD – Abbie Waliczek has joined the staff at U.P. Dance Academy in Kingsford as a tap, jazz, and creative movement teacher.

She will be teaching beginner, intermediate, advanced and competitive tap under Doni Mae Rauch on Wednesdays and beginner tap/jazz and Hip Hop classes on Thursdays.

Waliczek has been dancing and performing since the age of three. She started in the genres of tap and later included jazz. Once she hit middle school she decided to take dancing a step further and began dancing at a competitive level.

She spent six years competing in tap and jazz taking many high honors including Overall 1st Place Finisher, Entertainment Challenge 1st Place, Solo Performance 1st Place, Best Precision, Outstanding Performer, Overall High Score Awards, Outstanding Soloist, 2009, 2010 Heart and Soul Recipient.

In addition, she was a Florence High School superior honor student and the salutatorian for the Class of 2012. After high school graduation, Waliczek attended University of Wisconsin-Madison and was enrolled in their nursing department along with being a member of the Dance Elite-UW Madison Club Dance Team 2013.

She is currently a student at Rasmussen College of Nursing to become a registered nurse.
