EAST LANSING – Jeffrey E. Jacobs, MD, a Calumet pediatrician, was re-elected to the Michigan State Medical Society (MSMS) Board of Directors during the 150th annual MSMS House of Delegates meeting held recently in Grand Rapids.

Doctor Jacobs will serve a third three-year term on the 39-member MSMS Board that oversees operations of the 15,000-member medical society in East Lansing.

He represents physicians in Houghton, Baraga, Keweenaw counties.

The Michigan State Medical Society is the statewide professional association of 15,000 physicians in Michigan and is affiliated with the American Medical Association.

Physician policies on various issues involving public health, health care delivery and medical ethics are set at the annual MSMS House of Delegates meeting.
