Construction project under way at Lake Superior State University

SAULT STE. MARIE – Contractors with Hallmark Construction out of Traverse City, Mich. recently cleared the interior of Lake Superior State University’s South Hall in Sault Ste. Marie. for a $13.5 million renovation of the building into R.W. Considine Hall, which will open for classes in fall 2016 and house LSSU’s Lukenda School of Business.

The school is named in honor of LSSU alum and Sault, Ont., businessman Dr. Lou Lukenda. Considine Hall derives from Trout Lake, Mich., native and retired entrepreneur Dr. Robert Considine. Both men have been instrumental over the years with gifts ranging from scholarships, to the underwriting of numerous capital (building and facility) campaigns across a range of programs and disciplines.
