KINGSFORD – The employees of Iron Mountain Kingsford Community Federal Credit Union recently gathered, wearing red, white and blue for Memorial Day.

Two employees, Lydia Krivanek and Debbie Milligan, knitted squares which will be donated to the Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation to make the worlds’ biggest stocking for Christmas.

Once the stocking is assembled, it will be taken apart and the blankets will be donated to those in need. The organization has identified almost 20,000 children of fallen war heroes. Their passion is to raise awareness around the country to find them, and to rally support for the promise of making college a reality for those who have suffered the ultimate loss.

“By providing scholarships and long-term educational counseling to their children, we honor the lives of those men and women who gave their lives for our country,” said spokesperson.
