Jacobs Funeral Homes offers funeral luncheons

IRON MOUNTAIN – The Jacobs Funeral Homes are now offering funeral luncheons with a wide range of menu options.

Jacobs Funeral Homes, since 1988, has been a leader and innovator in funeral service, said owner Perry Jacobs. Jacobs Funeral Homes is the first in the area to offer this service.

On the cutting edge, Jacobs was first to offer a funeral planning consultant to the area, customized folders and back panels, mobile website, only on-site crematory and pet cremation services, he added.

Memories Cafe provides a place for families to reminisce and reflect as they celebrate one’s life, he said.

“The families never have to leave our facility, and we are proud to be the first in our area to offer this service,” Jacobs said.

He added that the newly-renovated cafe brings the funeral home into the future. Copper top tables along with a traditional old world feel, give an atmosphere of warmth and elegance, as families gather.

“To satisfy all appetites, we offer a wide variety of foods, from simple cakes and desserts, light luncheons to a famous Italian buffet,” Jacobs said.

“We can accommodate a small to much larger group of people and the quality of our food is unmatched,” he said.

The funeral home’s large staff along with licensed directors in both Michigan and Wisconsin makes it possible to provide these services, he said.

“Our team understands, and our compassion makes me feel good as we assist our families by offering them a nice meal and extra services,” says Carrie Schalow, certified pre-planning consultant and licensed insurance agent.

Since the beginning of time, families have come together in times of joy and sadness. Regardless of geography, culture or ritual, the focal point of family gatherings has been food.

Sharing food with family during these times brings comfort; it nourishes the body while the intimacy experienced nurtures the soul, Jacobs Funeral Homes officials said.

Enjoying a meal after a funeral ceremony is also a wonderful way to alleviate stress, they said.

“All of life’s celebrations include a feast,” Jacobs said.

Jacobs has facilities in Iron Mountain, Crystal Falls, Florence and Niagara.
