IRON MOUNTAIN – The Jacobs Funeral Homes are now offering funeral luncheons with a wide range of menu options. With its Memories Cafe, they are providing families a time to reminisce and reflect as their celebrate their family member’s life.

“The families never have to leave our facility and we are proud to be the first in our area to offer this service,” noted Perry Jacobs, owner.

He added that the newly renovated cafe brings the funeral home into the future. There are coppertop tables along with a traditional old world feel that generate an atmosphere of warmth and elegance for families to gather.

The Memories Cafe offers a wife variety of foods, from simple cakes and desserts, light luncheons to an Italian buffet. “We can accommodate a small to much larger group of people and the quality of our food is unmatched,” he said.

The funeral home’s staff along with licensed directors in both Michigan and Wisconsin make it possible to provide these services.

“Our team understands and our compassion makes me feel good as we assist our families by offering them a nice meal and extra services,” noted Carrie Schalow, certified pre-planning consultant and licensed insurance agent at Jacobs Funeral Homes.

Jacobs added that families have always come together in times of joy and sadness and these gatherings usually involve sharing food. He said that enjoying a meal after a funeral ceremony is a wonderful way to alleviate stress. “All of life’s celebrations include a feast.”
