VanBrocklin joins Bay College as marketing, events coordinator

ESCANABA -Melissa VanBrocklin has joined the staff at Bay College as the new community events and marketing coordinator on the Escanaba campus.

VanBrocklin is no stranger to Bay College or the community. She is a Bay College alumni, completing both an associate of arts degree in business and an accounting certificate. She also completed her bachelor of science in business administration through the LSSU Regional Center at Bay College.

VanBrocklin comes with great work experience, working at the M-TEC at Bay College for four years and three years with the Bay Middle College program. She replaces Debbie Stiglitz who retired after 22 years of service to the college.

VamBrocklin lives in Gladstone with her husband Joe and children; Calixt, Chloe, and Natalee.

Her primary responsibility is to coordinate and manage all internal and external community events on campus. This includes all requests for the use of the Bay College facilities for conferences, meetings and events, including event management and catering coordination.

“I am so excited for this wonderful opportunity to continue to learn and grow with Bay College. We have a great team here and so much to offer the community from conference rooms, breakout/training rooms, computer labs, executive board rooms, to a state-of-the-art Besse Center Theater. I look forward to helping the community with their facility needs,” said VanBrocklin.

Bay College is available for conferences, teleconferences, training sessions, work meetings, product demonstrations, and industry expos.

The facility includes meeting space for large and small groups, advanced telecommunications technology throughout, flexible furniture configurations, on-site catering services, and the Besse Center Theater with 268 theater style seats.

“Whatever professional event or activity you are planning Bay College elevates it to a new level of enjoyment and productivity. Working with Melissa you will be able to plan an activity that makes the most of the facility’s features and amenities. You will also be connected to other campus facilities, services, and resources that add value to your event. The possibilities are limited only by your imagination.” noted Kim Carne, vice president of college advancement.

Bay College also offers the community a virtual Online Event Scheduling System to reserve space or book your event online. This comprehensive system can provide you with one place to go for all your scheduling needs. Check it out at events.baycollege.edu/virtualems.
