Farmer’s Market at different location in IM on Saturday

IRON MOUNTAIN -The next Iron Mountain Farmers & Artisans Market will be Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon. The market runs from June thru mid-October every Saturday.

This week, the market is moving to the public parking lot behind the Iron Mountain City Hall building due to Italian Fest.

“The move will provide ample space for vendors and plenty of parking for the public,” noted market manager Nancy Schaub.

The public is asked to refrain from being in market area before 8 a.m. to give vendors a chance to set up their products safely.

Vendors will have carrots, peas, beans and beets for sale as well as good crop of greens, radishes, kohlrabi, fresh herbs, new potatoes, zucchini, mushrooms, zucchini and cucumbers for sale, A few early tomatoes may be available as well.

“We are proud to feature locally grown and produced products at our market. The market has a wide variety of locally made crafts available, jewelry, woven rugs, yard art, and birdhouses. Vendors sell eggs, meat, Mean Jean’s Mustard, jam, maple syrup, baked goods and in season fruit,” organizers added.

The V.A. Farmers market will be run every Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Space may still be available for those wishing to sell locally grown produce and plants. Artist and crafters producing unique products from natural or organic materials are encouraged to join other vendors at the market.

But organizers noted that vendors will no longer be accepted on site. They are required to submit a completed application for the Market Committee to review.
