Fresh vegetables available at IM Farmer’s Market Saturday

IRON MOUNTAIN – The next Iron Mountain Farmers & Artisans Market will be Saturday and feature a wide variety of fresh vegetables.

Vendors will have carrots, peas, beans and beets for sale as well as good crop of greens, radishes, kohlrabi, fresh herbs, new potatoes, zucchini, mushrooms, zucchini and cucumbers for sale, A few early tomatoes may be available as well.

“We are proud to feature locally grown and produced products at our market. The market has a wide variety of locally made crafts available, jewelry, woven rugs, yard art, and birdhouses. Vendors sell eggs, meat, Mean Jean’s Mustard, jam, maple syrup, baked goods and in season fruit, a spokesperson said.

The market runs from June through mid October every Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon. The market is managed by Nancy Schaub together with the Farmer’s Market executive committee under the auspices of the Downtown Development Authority (DDA)/ Main Street program.

Organizers ask that the public refrain from being in market area before 8 a.m. to give vendors a chance to set up their products safely.

The Almost Home Animal Shelter will have a booth at this week’s market. They will be selling T-shirts and dog bandanas from the Paws in the Park fund-raiser as well as Sayklly’s suckers and other items.

The Shelter will be accepting donations from our needs list as well as Super One and Econo slips.

The V.A. farmer’s market will be run every Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Space may still be available for those wishing to sell items, but vendors will no longer be accepted on site.
