Farmers Market Saturday

IRON MOUNTAIN -The next Iron Mountain Farmers & Artisans Market will be Saturday, Sept. 12.

The market is held from 8 a.m. to noon every Saturday through October. This week, the market has been moved to the parking lot behind Iron Mountain City Hall.

This move was due to two other events being held on Saturday – Oktoberfest and the Iron Mountain Road and Trail Half Marathon.

“The move will provide ample space for vendors and plenty of parking for the public,” noted Nancy Schaub, who manages the market with the Farmer’s Market Executive committee.

The market is held under the auspices of the Downtown Development Authority/ Main Street.

People attending the market are reminded to not come before 8 a.m. since this gives the vendors a chance to set up their products safely.

Produce vendors will have tomatoes, corn, and fall squash. Summer produce is available in abundance.

The market also features locally grown and produced products as well as a wide variety of locally made crafts available, jewelry, woven rugs, yard art, and birdhouses. Vendors sell eggs, meat, Mean Jean’s Mustard, jam, maple syrup, honey, baked goods and in season fruit.

Apples will be available from Pleasant View Orchard and Bakery. Mike Holmes will be selling honey.

The V.A. Farmers Market will be run every Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
