Two people injured in Delta County traffic crash

FORD RIVER — Two drivers were injured in a two-vehicle accident on U.S. 2 in Ford River on Sunday night, according to the Delta County Sheriff’s Department.

An eastbound vehicle driven by a 54-year-old Escanaba woman crossed the centerline and struck a westbound vehicle driven by a 21-year-old Bark River man shortly before 11 p.m. The eastbound vehicle overturned and struck several trees before coming to a stop.

The woman was transported by Rampart Emergency Medical Services to OSF St. Francis Hospital in Escanaba and later transferred to U.P. Health Systems Marquette. Her condition was unknown this morning.

The man went to OSF where he was treated and released, according to the sheriff’s department, which continues to investigate.
