Forest Park student qualifies for BPA national conference

Roy Hagglund, a senior at Forest Park, has qualified for the Business Professional of America’s national competition in Orlando, Fla.

CRYSTAL FALLS — Forest Park High School senior Roy Hagglund has qualified for Business Professionals of America’s national competition. Hagglund placed in the Financial Math and Analysis event.

The National Leadership Conference will be May 10 to 14 in Orlando, Fla. At this competition, students participate in business-related events and compete for the top spots in the nation.

Business Professionals of America is a national youth organization that provides leadership and business opportunities for high school students to prepare them in their selection as they make decisions on their future careers.

The skills students learn through participating in a variety of business experiences will help prepare them for a career in the work force.

It is part of an education program designed to develop leadership abilities, competency in business occupations and interest in the American business system.

The cost of this competition is too much for school districts to provide, so fundraising has begun to send Hagglund to the competition.

Anyone who wants to help can send a contribution to: Forest Park High School, Attn: BPA, 801 Forest Parkway, Crystal Falls, MI 49920.
