MARINETTE, Wis. — Joan Maloof, founder and executive director of the Old-Growth Forest Network, Easton, Md., will discuss the key ecological role of old-growth forests during a presentation at UW-Marinette on Thursday, April 19 at 12:20 p.m. in Room M-117. During her talk, she will share where these forests are located throughout the world and why they matter. Her presentation is free and open to the public.

On Earth Day, April 22, Maloof will participate in a dedication ceremony at Cathedral Pines, a designated state natural area in the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest in Oconto County. It will be the first Wisconsin forest to be included in the Old-Growth Forest Network.
