Logging equipment damaged in Iron County

CRYSTAL FALLS — The Iron County Sheriff’s Office seeks assistance in investigating malicious damage to logging equipment that occurred earlier this week near Smokey Lake Reserve.

The incident occurred Tuesday night or early Wednesday on Federal Forest Road 3210.

“The two pieces of logging equipment were heavily damaged, rendering them useless and leaving the owners with large repair bills and lost wages due to the machines being down,” said Sheriff Mark Valesano.

Anyone who may have been in the area, or who has any information, is asked to contact the sheriff’s office at 906-875-0650.
