Amberg Historical Society lists weekend times, meeting dates

AMBERG, Wis. — The Amberg Historical Society announces that the museum visitor season for the coming to an end. However they will be open on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Monday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

On Oct. 6, they will conduct another of their “Quarry Walks” and, for the first time, a visit to the Native American dance rings and sturgeon wells near the Menominee River. The day’s activity will begin with an orientation and presentation about those subjects 9 a.m. at the main museum building on County Highway V in Amberg and then a car pool tour.

The Board of Directors will meet on Sept. 6 at 10 a.m. They also want to remind members and any interested persons that the next general membership meeting will be held at the Amberg Community Center on Sept. 10 at 6:30 p.m.

They will review the many changes that have occurred over the summer season and plans for future improvements. They are thankful for all who have volunteered time and talent to the museum. Anyone interested in Amberg history is welcome to attend.
