IRON MOUNTAIN – Tickets are now available for the Northern Lights YMCA Dickinson Center fifth annual Corks & Forks event set for Thursday, Sept. 20, at Pine Grove Country Club.

The Northern Lights YMCA-Dickinson Center’s largest fundraising event directly supports the YMCA’s Annual Fund campaign, which affords access for all at the Y through financial assistance and program subsidies.

Corks & Forks has grown in popularity each year and is expected to be at capacity again, as officials also plan to celebrate the success of the recent Capital Campaign and unveil pictures of the upcoming remodel slated for the YMCA in 2019.

“First and foremost we are thankful for our event partners, 41 Lumber, Bacco Construction and Bink’s Wine and Beverages,” Center Director Jonathan Ringel said. “We are also grateful to our hosts at Pine Grove as well as all the community participants who help keep this event a success through prize donations and volunteer efforts.”

The evening, which begins with a social hour at 5:30 p.m., will feature hors d’oeuvres, wines, music and prizes — including a specially designed piece of jewelry from Erickson Jewelers.

So far in 2018, the YMCA has provided more than $30,000 in direct financial assistance to local residents and by year’s end that number is expected to surpass $100,000 when program support is taken into account.

“I think people see the positive impact the YMCA is having in this community, and that’s why they’ve been so willing to step up and help support what we do,” Ringel said. “It’s going to be a great evening, and we’re looking forward to showing the community our final plans for our upcoming building renovation.”

The YMCA once again will offer a Kids Night in conjunction with the wine tasting. Children ages 3 to 12 can enjoy structured activities in the gym and pool.

Tickets for the event are $50 per person or $90 per couple and are available at the YMCA front desk or by phone at 906-774-4076.
