IM man faces home invasion, other charges

IRON MOUNTAIN — An Iron Mountain man was arraigned Wednesday in Dickinson County District Court on charges he entered a Kingsford home without permission Aug. 12 and attempted to photograph three unclothed minor children.

Scott Andrew Grubb, 46, stood mute to charges of home invasion-second degree, a 15-year felony; three counts of using computers to commit a crime, a seven-year felony; and three counts of capturing or distributing the image of an unclothed person, a five-year felony.

Grubb is scheduled for an Aug. 30 probable cause conference and a Sept. 6 preliminary examination, but defense attorney Antonio Ruiz told the court Grubb anticipates waiving the preliminary examination.

Grubb is free on bond.

Both the Dickinson County Prosecutor’s Office and Dickinson County District Court Judge Julie LaCost removed themselves from the case due to a conflict of interest. So the Marquette County Prosecutor’s Office and Marquette County District Court Judge Karl Weber will handle the case.

Authorities did not immediately respond to requests for more background information on the case.
