Drill at West Iron schools

Iron County police, firefighters, paramedics, hospital staff, health department officials and school personnel participated Monday in an active school shooter training session at West Iron County Schools and Aspirus Iron River Hospital in Iron River. No students were involved in the exercise. “We’re testing our services and capabilities,” Iron County Sheriff Mark Valesano said. “We want to be as prepared as we can be for an event like this if it ever happens.” Iron County Sheriff’s Department Sgt.
