Guilty plea entered in pornography case

William Dumke

IRON MOUNTAIN — An Iron Mountain man has reached a plea agreement with the Dickinson County Prosecutor’s Office on child pornography charges and will be sentenced Dec. 3.

William Frank Dumke, 48, pleaded guilty in Dickinson County Circuit Court to child sexually abusive activity and using computers to commit that crime, both 20-year felonies.

In exchange for the pleas, the prosecutor’s office dismissed charges of distributing or promoting child sexually abusive activity and using a computer to commit that crime, both seven-year felonies; possession of child sexually abusive material, a four-year felony; and using a computer to commit that crime, a seven-year felony.

Dumke downloaded child pornography between Oct. 6, 2016, and Nov. 1, 2017, and was discovered during an Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce investigation, according to the criminal complaint.

He admitted to making the files available to be shared, the complaint states.

A search of Dumke’s computers turned up about 500 gigabytes of child pornography that included very young children and toddlers, according to the criminal complaint.
