FLORENCE, Wis. — We Energies has returned to normal operations at the Pine Hydroelectric Power Plant near Florence.

The reservoir was lowered approximately 12 feet from its normal elevation for construction on the dam throughout the summer of 2018. We Energies’ public recreation sites No. 34 and No. 24 have also returned to normal operations.

The temporary drawdown was required for necessary maintenance at Pine Dam. Maintenance work was completed and the reservoir was refilled this month.

During the drawdown, motor vehicles and ATVs were not allowed on the exposed reservoir bed, metal detecting was not allowed and removal of driftwood was strictly prohibited.

We Energies has also returned to normal operations at the White Rapids Hydroelectric Power Plant near Amberg, Wis., and Stephenson, Mich.. The reservoir was lowered approximately 4.5 feet for construction activities. We Energies’ public recreation sites No. 1 and No. 32 have returned to normal operations.

The temporary drawdown was required for necessary maintenance at Chalk Hill Dam.
