Marquette man killed in crash

KALKASKA — A Marquette man is dead as the result of a two-vehicle accident that occurred Monday on U.S. 131 near Wood Road in downstate Kalkaska County.

Jerel Michael-Douglas Glenn, 29, died after the Chevrolet Impala he was driving southbound on U.S. 131 veered across the centerline into the path of a large northbound panel van driven by Vernon Torney of Fife Lake at about 11:47 a.m., according to a Kalkaska County Sheriff’s Office press release.

Glenn was pronounced dead at the scene.

A passenger in the Impala, Mikayla Hollands of Skandia, was transported to Munson Medical Center with injuries.

Torney escaped injury. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
