One in custody after Kingsford school break-in

KINGSFORD — One person was arrested after the Kingsford Public Safety Department investigated a reported break-in early Sunday at the Kingsford High/Middle School.

Officers got a 911 call at 7 a.m. that a school employee had discovered the break-in and the person was still inside the building, according to Kingsford Public Safety.

The person, whose name was not revealed, is in the Dickinson County Correctional Center on several charges, the Kingsford Public Safety news release stated.

The incident remains under investigation and no further information was released.

Officers were assisted by the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Department, Iron Mountain Police Department and the Michigan State Police.
