HYDE — A Schaefer man is dead after a crash Saturday night on U.S. 2/41 in Hyde. Michael Henry Doneau, 59, died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash.

According to the Delta County Sheriff’s Department, deputies were called to the Hyde area for a two-vehicle crash at 9:20 p.m. Saturday.

Hannahville Police Department officers, along with sheriff’s department deputies, arrived on scene and found a man unresponsive.

Deputies said Doneau was driving eastbound when he crossed the centerline into the path of a westbound vehicle, driven by a 22-year-old woman from Bark River. Two passengers, along with the female driver, were treated and released at St. Francis Hospital. Doneau was pronounced dead at St. Francis Hospital. The crash remains under investigation.
