Almost Home Animal Shelter plans fundraiser

NORWAY — Almost Home Animal Shelter will host ValenTails, a fundraising event, from 5 to 8:30 p.m. on Feb. 16 at Oak Crest Golf Course in Norway.

There will be a raffle, door prizes, plated meal, cash bar, a 50/50 raffle and both live and silent auction. Raffle tickets are $5 and cash prizes total $1,000. Ticket holders do not need to be present to win cash prizes.

“We are excited about putting on ValenTails again this year,” said Nancy Schaub, chairman of the fundraising committee. “We are also looking forward to having Jonathan Ringel as our master of ceremonies again. This event is our biggest fundraiser. With the drastic cuts in county appropriations we need to fund-raise to keep our doors open.”

Event tickets are $25 until Jan. 31 when the price will be $30. Event and raffle tickets are available at Almost Home Animal Shelter, Northern Interstate Bank (Pat’s Foods branch in Norway), First National Bank of Iron Mountain (main branch), and at the Iron Mountain Animal Hospital. Last year, event tickets were sold out prior to the event.

Anyone interested in being a sponsor for Cause for the Paws can call Mary at 906-563-8056.

Anyone interested in fundraising for the shelter can attend the regular fundraising meeting on the first Wednesday of the month in the upper level of the shelter at 6 p.m.
