Man, 75, found dead in IR; foul play not suspected

IRON RIVER — Police say foul play is not suspected in the death of a 75-year-old man whose body was discovered Wednesday morning in an alley behind Carquest Auto Parts store on Genesee Street in Iron River.

The man was found unresponsive about 7 a.m., according to a news release by Iron River Police Chief Curtis Bristol. His health and the winter weather are believed to be factors in the death, Bristol said.

He has been identified but the name was not released at this time in consideration of his family.

Iron River police were assisted by the Iron County Sheriff’s Department and the Michigan State Police.
