Events at the Dickinson County Library in IM
Some of the events planned at the Dickinson County Library in Iron Mountain include:
Saturday
— Dr. Seuss Celebration, 1 p.m.: Celebrate Dr. Seuss, one of the world’s most popular children’s book authors, on his birthday with a storytime, activities, crafts, and games. Featured books include “The Cat in the Hat,” “Oh, the Places You’ll Go,” and “The Lorax.” For children in kindergarten through second grade.
Monday
— Bow Wows and Books, 6 to 7:30 p.m.: Kids of all ages are invited to practice their literacy skills by reading aloud to therapy dogs Thor, an English mastiff, and Clara, a Yorkshire terrier. Sign up at the circulation desk or call the library at 906-774-1218 to reserve a 10-minute time slot with the dogs.
Tuesday, March 5
— Tiny Tales-Unicorns, 10:30 a.m.: Learn about magical creatures during this storytime session for infants through age 5. Storytimes provide a great opportunity to learn about early literacy practices to use at home.
–Lego Club at the Movies, 4 p.m. at the Tri-City Cinema 8 in Quinnesec: Kids in third through eighth grades who have attended the library’s Lego Clubs are invited to “The Lego Movie 2,” free of charge. Lego Club builders can attend a movie screening and have a small popcorn and pop, all courtesy of the Friends of the Library. Registration is required, as space is limited. All participants must pick up a permission slip at the Dickinson County Library, have a parent or guardian sign it, and return it by Sunday. Parents must provide transportation.
