Niagara Lions launch fireworks fundraiser

Roadside Pub bartender Autumn Israel displays the Niagara Lions Club Fireworks Cash Raffle tickets and poster.

NIAGARA, Wis. — The Niagara Lions Fireworks Cash Raffle is underway.

Proceeds will help pay for the fireworks at this year’s Niagara Lions Community Picnic, which will be held June 28-29. Cost of the annual pyrotechnic display is nearly $7,000, said fundraising chairman Dan Decker.

Since the picnic does not charge an entry fee while providing live musical performances both nights, the Lions need to raise funds to help offset expenses while keeping costs down for families.

Tickets are $10 each and only 600 tickets will be sold. A total of $2,000 in cash prizes will be awarded when the drawings are held at approximately 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 29, during the Lions picnic.

All prizes will be cash and include a first prize of $500 donated by mBank of Niagara.

Second prize is $400 provided by Bink’s Coca Cola. Third prize is $300 donated by the Niagara Lions Club and 4th prize is $200 donated by Niagara Fabrication. Fifth through 10th prizes are $100 cash each donated by the Red Brick Inn, Wilson’s CARSTAR, Big 10 Sports Bar, Niagara Health Center, Great Lakes Fresh Market, and the Niagara Knights of Columbus.

Prizes 11 through 16 are $50 each, which have been donated by Best Buy Liquor and Party Store, Scott’s Uptown Lanes, Affordable Carpet Care, Tom & Jo’s Liquor of Aurora, Nev’s North Star Bar, and Iron Mountain’s Wild Horse Saloon.
