IRON MOUNTAIN — At least one person was taken for medical treatment after a three-vehicle accident Wednesday afternoon on U.S. 2 near the Home Depot store.

Iron Mountain Police had few details on the accident that was reported about 3:28 p.m., but one person was believed transported to Dickinson County Memorial Hospital.

All three vehicles were damaged, one heavily, police said. The Iron Mountain Fire Department and emergency medical services also responded to the crash.

After cleaning fluids and debris, the fire department was called to 610 W. A St., where a pot caught fire in the kitchen of a home.

The homeowner told firefighters when they arrived about 3:41 p.m. that the fire already had been extinguished. The IMFD brought the pot outside and ventilated the home.

After using a thermal-imaging camera to determine the building was safe, firefighters returned to the station at 4:22 p.m.
