Florence Library Friends plan rummage sale

FLORENCE, Wis. — Friends of the Florence County Library will participate in a community-wide rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 1, in Florence.

The Friends will use the Veterans of Foreign Wars hall on the south end of Quinnesec Street.

Donations are being accepted. Non-clothing items may be dropped off at the library during open hours or by speaking to librarian Stephanie Weber. This is the fifth year the Friends have participated in this sale. A turkey sandwich lunch also will be served from 10 a.m. to noon.

Last year’s funds helped the Friends support children’s programs, additional books and media, and construction of new audio shelving.

The group continues to support the “Books on the Bus” program for elementary students as well as tending to “Little Free Libraries” throughout the county.

The group meets quarterly with the next meeting at 4 p.m. July 17 in the library meeting room.
