Armed robbery reported at Pembine bank
PEMBINE, Wis. — Marinette County authorities are looking for a male who robbed the Stephenson National Bank & Trust in Pembine early this afternoon.
The male reportedly entered the bank about 1:20 p.m., showed a handgun and left in an unknown direction in a dark-colored SUV with no license plates, Marinette County Sheriff Jerry Sauve said. No one was injured in the incident, Sauve said.
The male was described as about 6 feet in height and wearing a mask, Sauve said.
The robbery sounded similar to a recent incident in Escanaba, Sauve said.
According to an Escanaba Public Safety news release, a male dressed in black with a mask and carrying a handgun tried to enter the United Federal Credit Union about 5:53 p.m. Friday, but the building already had closed for the day and was secured, although an employee was still inside. A surveillance camera showed the vehicle used was an older-model GMC Acadia, dark blue, or black in color, with a sun roof.
