QUINNESEC — The Breitung Township Board decided Monday it would seek new bids to repave a street in East Kingsford.

The township had accepted a bid made by Midwest Asphalt and Gravel Inc. of Iron Mountain in October to pave one lane of Maple Street.

But because the township has decided to repave both lanes of the street, the Dickinson County Road Commission — which will bear part of the project cost — requested it seek new project bids.

In other business, the board:

— Gave the Salvation Army and the Carpenter-Clash Post of the American Legion approval to use a Department of Public Works garage in January for a Feeding America event. The exact date of the event has yet to be set.

— Approved having Clerk Samantha Neuens and Deputy Clerk Karie Taff attend an absentee voting ballot training class Thursday in Marquette. Both Neuens and Taff will be paid for mileage, meals and lodging, if necessary.
