Man sought in Pembine bank robbery
PEMBINE, Wis. — Marinette County authorities are looking for a man with a dark-colored SUV who robbed the Stephenson National Bank & Trust in Pembine on Monday afternoon.
The man, wearing a full face mask, robbed the bank about 1:18 p.m. after showing a handgun, Marinette County Sheriff Jerry Sauve said in a news release.
He left in a vehicle described as a dark-colored, mid- to late-model GMC four-door mid-sized SUV, possibly an Acadia, with silver five-spoke wheel rims.
The white male was described as about 6 feet 2 inches to 6-foot-5 in height, wearing light blue jeans, brown or tan shoes, a dark sweatshirt or jacket and gloves, along with the face mask.
The man is believed to be armed and dangerous, Sauve said.
The sheriff’s office is working on video evidence of the suspect and vehicle involved.
The robbery sounded similar to a recent incident in Escanaba, Sauve previously said in an interview Monday afternoon.
According to an Escanaba Public Safety news release, a male dressed in black with a mask and carrying a handgun tried to enter the United Federal Credit Union about 5:53 p.m. Friday, but the building already had closed for the day and was secured, although an employee was still inside.
A surveillance camera showed the vehicle used was an older-model GMC Acadia, dark blue or black in color, with a sun roof.
