The DayDreamers at Music in the Park

The DayDreamers will perform Thursday at Music in the Park in Norway.

Norway — Norway Music in the Park continues their 2019 summer series at the Norway Band Shell on Thursday with another group new to the popular summer concert series. The DayDreamers will entertain area music fans for this week’s concert.

The DayDreamers are Jackie Bowers, Nicklas Johnson, Dave Zeigner, Gary Parkkonen and Bryn Jungwirth. From blues to rap and jazz to pop The DayDreamers are excited to be playing all your favorites hits with a bit of a twist.

Having an high energy top 40s show isn’t the only thing The DayDreamers do –they have hidden gems of original material. With rockin’ blues songs, smoky jazz, grooving reggae with a touch of rock, pop and even hip hop. They took these influences and released their first original music video on March 12th 2015 with their tune “F.P.S.” written by front man Bowers.

Following the release of their video, the DayDreamers have played over 1,000 shows. Including concert series, festivals and even a recital hall.

“We hope folks that come into Iron Mountain for ‘Out to Lunch’ with the MoJo will enjoy a great lunch with the outstanding food vendors there, then come down to enjoy DayDreamers” at Music in the Park,” event coordinator Carol Sundstrom said.

The Norway Music Boosters will sell drinks, ice cream, and other light concessions, while the Norway Area Preservation Society will sell Chicago style hot dogs, beverages and popcorn. Some seating is available at the band shell but those taking in the performances can bring lawn chairs to enjoy the music.

Music in the Park is grateful for the financial support they have received from several organizations, businesses and individuals this year, without whom this concert series would not be possible.

In case of inclement weather, concerts will be held this year at the Crossroads Church behind the historical museum on O’Dill Drive just as you drive into Norway from Iron Mountain and points west.
