Fire prevention grant

The Dickinson Area Community Foundation recently awarded a $250 mini-grant to the City of Kingsford, Department of Public Safety. The grant funds will be used to fund educational material used to teach fire prevention and safety to young students at Woodland Elementary. From left, in the front row are Everett Wahoviak, Jack Pawlak and Macy Trulock and in the back row are Tamara Juul, executive director of DACF, presenting the check to officer Ken Wood. The mission of the Community Foundation is to improve the quality of life for the residents of our communities. The DACF mini grant program is available throughout the year and the annual large grant cycle will open in September. If you would like information on available funding, contact Juul at 906-774-3131, or go to www.dickinsonareacommunityfoundation.org
